Uruguayan Discovery Trail

Coast to coast across Uruguay, from Fray Bentos to Chuy.

The Uruguayan Discovery Trail is a system of recreational trails and roads that collectively form a coast-to-coast trail across Uruguay. Motorcycles, cars, bikes, and horses can be ridden on most of this trail.

The coastal trailheads are Fray Bentos on the Uruguay River and Chuy, close to the border with Brazil and the Atlantic Ocean. The trail has northern and southern alternates for part of its distance, passing through Colonia, Montevideo and Minas. The total length of the trail is 1305 km. The trail passes through 3 national parks and 10 beautiful forests, and uses sections of or connects to waterfalls, rural shops, churches and the Montevideo rambla.

Routes 12 and 60 are beautiful routes to ride: winding roads with outstanding landscapes, and a couple of alternative tracks from there!
