Are you an adventure enthusiast who loves to feel the freedom on two wheels? If so, Uruguay is the ideal place for you. There are many motorcycle routes to explore. However, some of them are more spectacular than others. Below, we'll show you the best motorcycle routes in Uruguay:
Uruguayan Discovery Trail
The Uruguayan Discovery Trail is the first route that we recommend, it is a system of
recreational trails and roads that collectively form a coast-to-coast trail across Uruguay.
Motorcycles, cars, bikes, and horses can also be ridden on most of this trail. The coastal
trailheads are the Fray bentos on the Uruguay River and Chuy close to the border of Brasil
and the Atlantic Ocean. The trail has northern and southern alternates for part of its
distance, passing through Colonia, Montevideo and Minas. The total length of the trail is
1305 km.
The trail passes through 3 national parks and 10 beautiful forests and uses sections of or
connects to waterfalls, rural shops, churches and the Montevideo rambla.

Route 60
Route 60, the famous route "panoramica", it is a beautiful that goes from Minas to Pan de
Azucar. It is a winding route offering outstanding hills, and there are couple of
alternative tracks from there, one is "Cañadon de la Palma".
It is a great place with a 3 waterfalls and a lot of hiking tracks to do it, definetly, a
place to visit. Additionally from there you have route 81, great dirt route that cross the
"sierras". Both routes are part of the Uruguayan Discovery Trail.
Route 12
Route 12, a very fun route. It stats from route 60, goes through Pueblo Eden, and ends in
Punta Ballena.
This route offers breathtaking mountain landscapes, hills and rivers.
Pueblo Eden, offers good vibe restaurants and cake shops. La casita de choclate, it is a
great one to taste hot choclate and delicious cakes.
If you continue to Punta Ballena, there is a great lookout Cumbres de la Ballena, it is an
amazing place to contemplate Laguna del Sauce. Both routes are part of the Uruguayan
Discovery Trail.
Route 81
Route 81, very close to Minas, a dirt roue throuh the sierras in Lavalleja department.
This route offers impressive views of the Cuchilla Grande range. This route is about 26
kilometers
long and takes approximately 1 hour to complete. Throughout the route, you can enjoy
stunning views of mountain landscapes and forests of the region.
It passes very close to the Budist temple, a great construction on the top of the range.
Both routes are part of the Uruguayan Discovery Trail.
Route 8 and 13
Route 8 and 13, connects Minas and Aigua. AThis route offers impressive views of the
mountains and valleys of the region. The route is about 53 kilometers long and takes about
1 hour to complete.
